What is a e-Notary?
An Electronic Notary(e-notary) notarizes documents electronically, either in person or online using audio-video conferencing.
Electronic notarization is a process whereby a notary affixes an electronic notary signature and seal information to an electronic document (such as a PDF or Word document). Once affixed to the electronic document, the document is rendered tamper evident such that unauthorized attempts to alter the document will be evident to relying parties.
What is a Remote Notarization?
Remote online notarization is the same as a traditional notarization, except a signer personally appears before the Notary at the time of the notarization using webcam/video instead of being physically present in the same room.
What is a Notary Signing Agent?
A Notary Signing Agent or NSA is a Notary who has special training to handle loan document signings.

I'm in another state, can I get my document notarized?
Yes, The Virginia Electronic Notarization Assurance Standard ensures documents notarized by Virginia electronic notaries are accepted worldwide.
Virginia law requires all signers to be identified by government issued photo identification.
Types of identification accepted:
United States Passport, United States Passport Card, Certificate of United States citizenship
Certificate of naturalization, Foreign passport, Alien registration card with photograph
State issued driver’s license, State-issued identification card, United States military card
Single seal - $5.00 (Acknowledgement, Jurat, True copy)
Online Document Signing - $25 (includes 1 notary seal)
Mobile Notary Signing - $40 (travel fee + 1 notary seal)
Loan Signing - $100 and up
